I am an interdisciplinary fine artist originally from Dallas,TX now living in Seattle, WA. Using a range of painting mediums,
I aim to create a world of unexpected juxtapositions.
Land Unfulfilled Series: Nature’s impatience when reclaiming deserted structures and organism serve as a constant reminder of the passing of time. With this comes the inevitable cycle of decay and rebirth. My paintings aim to pinpoint this process by composing wide-reaching landscapes occupied filled with isolated animals and organisms. The intertwining of natural elements and decomposition creates a narrative around the beauty of survival.
Mineral House Series: These paintings draw inspiration from decaying structures and precious gems and minerals. The deteriorating nature of the structures contrasts the smooth uniform walls of the minerals. Washes of ink were used for the shading on the stone and building surface followed by an outline of details using a micron pen.
